New Demak DZM 200
Meet the new Demak DZM 200cc RM7,200 cash to challenge NIMOTA CK9 and perhaps steal some pie chart from Yamaha FZ150i. I do not have its brochure but a quick glance saw this bike using 110/70 front and 130/70 rear tyre. Underseat exhaust, LCD meter cluster, carburetor, a Honda CG engine look alike and ultimately the front look like Yamaha FZ6 Fazer.
I saw this bike at night and to my surprise it have LED light beside the fuel tank. So, it help in safety too whereas people could notice this bike from the side. Useful at junction or at stop.
So buzz around to nearest Demak dealer to know it personally.
- seems height can be adjusted. Rebound not sure. |
- look how close the exhaust and the absorber..?? - |
Updates:
My friend blue DZM with 3000++Km could go up to 135kmh and according to him, his friend bike max 160++kmh with exhaust modification. Not sure they compares it with GPS speed.
How is the reliability and durability of this bike bro...
ReplyDeleteFor certain reasons, this post achieved 1000 hits within one month of inception....means people are looking for affordable bike with adequate cc or an alternative besides what our market now having such as FZ and Nimota CK9.
DeleteI am not sure about its reliability and durability. I guess I need to write to Demak and ask for a unit to test ride. Maybe they won't entertain, but I will try it though.
I brought my Demak DZM200 as a commuter bike, then three days later I had a side on side crash at 30kph with a BMW 5 series. Despite a few minor scratches, slightly twisted forks, and some cracks in the rear cowling the bike was fine. It cost me RM270 to fix as well as have some modifications done. So durability in an accident wise, it's a very tough little bike.
DeleteThe bike is wonderfully light and easy to control at low speeds and feels stable when pushing the throttle, which brings me to the engine power.
Currently with 2400+ Km on my ODO I can push it to 130Kph at red line with petronas RON97, if I use shell V-Power Racing and an octane booster it can reach 140 at red line (this is belly down obviously).
But top speed isn't everything, this bike can accelerate quite well, the 200cc is a very torque-y engine at low to mid rpm.
To be honest I would have to say that the Yamaha FZ-150i is the best bike out of the three mentioned. Demak and Nimota can't compete with the experienced Japanese design and manufacture of Yamaha. BUT!
The Demak DZM200 is a sexy ass bike and I love it, if they ever make a 250 sports bike I would certainly consider buying one when its time to upgrade.
does this bike have air coolant or not???
ReplyDeleteRin, it is air cooled and not water/oil cooled. From the look of the engine, it is not far from Honda CG.
DeleteI have send an email requesting for a test ride but to no avail received any reply. This post now reached 4K views.
as I know/hear this engine using a push rod for the engine timing..which mean camshaft below the cylinder head..is it true?
ReplyDeleteView for this post now reaches 2477 since 2nd Nov 2013.
DeleteI could not verify on that, but if Demak based this engine on a CG, then the push rod layout might be true. I have emailed Demak to have a test ride but they still not reply. Maybe they will give test ride to a known source like magazine and not individual like me.
- never give up -
where got sell this?
ReplyDeleteDemak dealer sure have lot of this. Try mudah.com.
DeleteHi bro, I'm a user of Demak and as far as I know is that the engine that Demak use on their scrambler models and the DZM is based on Honda CG, which is why it is not hard to find the factory spareparts for the engine, if you didn't like the factory parts for the engine you can just buy any Honda CG parts and you can just Plug N Play for the installation, and about reliability of Demak bikes.. Since last year I used my Demak DTM150 I never ever encountered any major problems, the only problems I have was this one time only that my front meter cable need to be adjusted thats all, and I only been to Demak SC one time only because of teppet adjustment which is a common thing in pushrod engine bikes.. since DZM also has the same type of engine as the DTM200 and the only diferrence is that DZM used different engine cover than the DTM's means that it has the same reliability as Demak DTM's..and the undertail exhaust really help this bike acceleration, when you buy a bike all that matters now is the owner, if the owner rides like a crazy person without a doubt any bike of any brands could get broken easily.. if you ride it for the sheer pleasure of using it as a bike for travelling around and joyriding I can tell you this is a good bike for that, as far as the fuel consumption that I know from this bike that it is very economical. From the review of 5 DZM bike that goes on convoy last time, full tank of around rm35 or so can get you at an estimated rate of 450km.

Thanks a lot bro for your review :)
Deletebro can count the fuel consumption more detail..? please..
DeleteMy friend also said d same about his FC.
DeleteWelcome bro :) , oh and another info, when you want to buy this bike make sure you change the stock tyres it use with a new one, I recommend for low budget maybe DURO would do, since the stock FKR tyres for this bike is the same tyres you would get on any DTM's, it is hard compound tyre and it is prone to make you fall along with your bike when riding in any condition
Deletehow about top speed bro? since this bike still new in our market, still got doubt on this bike. sorry im still newbie
ReplyDeleteMr Ikmal, lucky us coz someone has shared their ownership experience and coincidently, my friend bought this bike too. I will ask him the top speed once he passed 1000km mark.
DeleteMy friend bike speed around 135kmh with few more "minyak". An exhaust modification will make this bike go to 160kmh++. Believe me!!
Delete160kmh? wow...how accurate de bike's meter compare to gps? smhow 160kmh sound like too much..
DeleteYup, quite too much. I did asked my friend to compare with GPS. I believe GPS speed of 130-140kmh is more realistic.
Deletebawak kat highway cuba potong lori, melayang layang rasanya. cubalah
ReplyDeletefriends i'm from srilanka could you please tell me about this and also is it good choice to buy this dtm 200cc
ReplyDeleteany suggestions to make the rear end look better? i like this bike, budget friendly and stylish, but the rear lamp seem too .. cheap....... and anyone got my idea of changing the fuel tank lamp to orange and making it a signal light? should really try that, bro.. :D
ReplyDelete-donating my idea in hope of getting a positive reply..-
I had the rear mud guard with that fake plastic exhaust (mine has a foctory installed side mounted exhaust) and all four indicator stalks completely removed, the indicators at the rear were replaced with "bud" indicators and fixed to the cowling near the tail light. the side leds already flash when you turn the indicator on so all you would have to do is change the colour from blue-white to orange.
DeleteI had that idea too when i first saw that light...... i guess great minds think alike...
DeleteHow about short people can ride this bike?im consider to buy but im not taller enough..can 160cm ride this bike?just asking
ReplyDeleteCan, more than enough. Try it first.
ReplyDeleteCan anyone teach me about the modification.. I m a newbies.. I dont know anything about bikes
ReplyDeleteCan you tell about fuel consumption?
ReplyDeleteI think good bike. but not for a long life like yamaha or bajaj
