Bad Start for My Blade - 2014
2014 starts with a bad situation for Blade. I cannot start her since December after coming back from holiday. More than 2 weeks if I not mistaken. I thought it was battery but after recharging it twice, she still would not come to alive.
I gave up and asked Elley to replace the long distant job. Elley performs well despite the engine needs a grind valve and a small leaked exhaust manifold. Then, Amir comes for the rescue. He jumps Blade battery to a car and covered the leaking plug cap with a tape. Eventhough Naza did covered the replacement plug cap with several layers of tape, but I could see the spark going out from the body of plug cap.
So, Amir relayed both the plug cap as temporary solution. Started the engine and there she goes. She fired healthily. Seriously, you must check the plug cap by placing it on the engine or touch to chasis, and then start the bike. In my case, the leaked 'electric' from the plug cap body makes a weak spark to start the internal combustion even though the battery is okay.
I managed to bring her twice to Sabak and on the third day, the symptom (unstable low to mid revs) comes again. Off I went to Naza SC and Mr Khairi of Naza said the already have a new part for plug cap. The problem is, the brand is still the same - GOLDEN, but Khairi informed me that the plug cap company have improvise the part to make it more durable.
I paid RM70 for two plug caps and changed my spark plug too (It is not easy to open the front spark plug. You must loosen oil cool housing before you could reach your hand to the area). Khairi also informed that Naza also provides warranty for the plug cap.
Now, she performs very well and I am glad she is back for service.
salam bro, saya nak mintak pandangan skit.. erm sy bercadang nak pakai blade 250r atau ktm duke 200, kalu kat fb, kedua model ni ada masalah tersendiri, so bg bro mana okey antara 2 model ni dari segi ketahanan, kos maintenance, spare part?.. sy duk area kajang dan long distance jarang2.. tq bro

DeleteMana satu yang sesuai dengan bro agak susah nak saya pilihkan sebab taste, kehendak dan keperluan kita berbeza.
Saya cuba tolong setakat yang mampu tapi pilihan akhir tetap kat tangan bro.
Soal ketahanan agak subjektif dan bergantung kepada penggunaan dan penyelenggaraan. Jadi elok kita tengok sifat dan 'character' model itu. At least bila kita 'kenal' sifat, maka lebih mudah nak buat pilihan.
Duke 200 motor naked, satu silinder. Blade v-twin, berfairing. Posisi confirm tak sama. Nak rileks position riding bagi rider dan pembonceng serta senang cilok tentulah Duke. Tambahan pula berat dia kurang daripada Blade. Tapi Blade punya wind protection lagi bagus sebab fairing ada.
Pikap starting memang Duke pergi dulu tapi taklah sampai setengah tiang. Suku pun tak juga sebab saya pernah test dulu (duke tu start dulu jarak sebijik motor.
Top speed standard menang kat Blade. Penggunaan minyak (FC) saya x dapat nak bandingkan. Mahal murah Spare parts juga tak dapat saya comparekan. Cuba bro bandingkan berapa belanja asas seperti kalau nak tukar minyak enjin, oil filter, air cleaner (blade rm100), brake pad, sporket, tayar dan lain2. Ini juga boleh bantu kita buat pilihan yg mana sesuai dengan kemampuan terkini kita.
Itulah serba sedikit yang saya boleh share dgn bro. Dengan banyak pilihan model sekarang, saya pun susah nak pilih. Tapi cuba korek seberapa banyak info pasal sesuatu model. Macam bila kita berkenan dengan seorang awek, tentu kita ambik tahu hal dia sebelum declare kan.?

ReplyDeleteBro, check your plug cap first. If its still okay plus the battery is healthy too, then it might be your starter relay.
DeleteYeah...first step to the narrow one...when the stator motor works fine,so stator relay might be the next...hope nothing much than the bloody cap...my head cant stop and keep on thinking on how pity my horse stranded breathless...ahhh...stressslah...still cant do anything, working till tomorrow and might be taking some "ular time" to buy the cap....or else next weeklah...haha..johned latif
