Tyre Talk
Here is my current tyre condition since day 1 of ownership.
Now it reaches warning limit marker at 18,286KM. So, this Korean made rubber
may last till 20,000KM. I have shop around for a better rubber and of
course 150/70 series quite costly around RM400-550 (Michelin Pilot Sporty,
Pirelli Speed Demon) . The cheapest is IRC Roadwinner of RM350-400
including installation.
Quite costly? Yup.
So, alternative is to get a lower profile. A 140/70 maybe suitable for Blade. I have checked the rim diameter and it is the
same with 150/70 fitment. Mind you that
Ninja 250R 2013 also uses the same 140/70 which an increase from 130/70 for
previous Ninja. So, for IRC Roadwinner,
the price for this size including installation and balancing is RM290, Michelin
Pilot Sporty RM350 and Pirelli Sport Demon is RM420. I am not sure whether the
price still the same as I did the survey before recent fuel price hike.
Good mileage for Shinko on Blade just do not apply to Duro
for Elegan. I did changed my rear
while at 40,207KM mileage. So, now is 47,473 and this tyre just last
about 7000km only. The cost just about RM130.
