Naza Blade 250R 2013

Meet my new baby...?? new baby? okay, lets use other term so that Elegan wont "merajuk" lagi. The humble Naza Blade 250R 2013 Black color which registered on 4th February 2013, and went out from Kedai Motor Tenaga exactly after performing Magrib prayer on 5th February 2013.

So, no Duke 690? no ZX10R 2013? no Ducati Monster 795? Yes, none of that but still in my wish list and I believe it will come through soon :) either 1 of that 3 or either 2 of that 3 hahaha. Ever wondering why this Blade 250R? Read more on the main reason of buying Blade.

WHY BUY?

Well, the main reason for this quick-in-prompt-decision LARGELY due to that I have been transferred to new office.  A short(?) distance of 320KM to and fro.  The instruction came out of nowhere and orders me to report duty in such a very short notice. Obviously, I cant leave my wife and kids, so I have no choice other than to commute daily.

Trusting the Elegan can perform the job well with so much comfort on it, but at the expense of not having a higher top speed (130kmh at red region of 10500RPM) could kill its engine very very soon.  Surely also I do not want to stress Elley engine too much. Therefore, in a rush-of-a-time for a capable bike to do the job and with some money.

I have to admit that I almost bought a Blade 250 Naked way back in 2010 but cancelled the deal once I felt uneasy the same day I was supposed to give Naza Kg Baru a bankers cheque.  So, I have studied the bike and it suits my current requirements well except I have to take a faired version (R) rather than a naked which supposedly to have a better long-range riding position as opposed to R version. Furthermore, Kedai Motor Tenaga only have its ready stock for a R version and as I need 250cc bike urgently, I just take it and knows very well that I have to adjust myself to suit the bike aggressive riding posture.

I ring my friend at Kedai Tenaga, luckily he have one stock of 250R black color.  I said I want it and asked him to assist me to register the bike with WXY.  At that time reg. number was WXX with 8000 serial is running. So, the next day he finally managed to register the bike with WXY with 1000 serial running and I came with a taxi to pick it up.  Mr Hong said that this is the fastest buy-register-out-of-shop at his accord.  Just imagined, booked for a day, tomorrow the bike out already.

On the next day (6 Feb) , I propel the bike for its first long distance ride firstly to KL Court through Grand Saga-Mahameru-Jln Kuching and its jammed like hell. After done with the hearing, I went to my new workplace from 11.40am and reach there around 1.50pm.  After 6.00pm, I rush back to Kajang and arrive exactly 8pm. For your information, my body retaliate with its new riding position and gives me "bengkak urat" all over the place.

On 7 Feb, I brings her up to Colmar Tropicale Bukit Tinggi for a training session. It raining heavily from Bulatan Cheras till Bukit Tinggi. My speed is just around 80 to 90kmh. I have trouble to keep the bike steady as I do not have the confidence at all when taking corners along Karak Highway and climbing up Bukit Tinggi to Colmar.

Today (9 Feb), I bring her home at 2pm leaving from Bukit Tinggi at 1pm (approx. 74km via MRR2 and Grand Saga). Today the mileage almost touching 500KM :) and my body starting to get used to the new riding position.

FIRST IMPRESSION - Riding Position
It has been 13 years since the last time I rode a bike with a tank upfront.  With radical position or more likely a racer to be, I try to find several position to suit myself.  But, honestly it quite stressful on the arm wrestling all the heavy traffic at Jalan Loke Yew. Once I reach Grand Saga and pick my speed, I felt okay already.  In terms of cornering, I need to do more mileage to inspire my confidence and to learn how the bike behaves.

Well, I will write more on features and its behavior soon.

    1. Waalaikumusalam bro.

Masa saya beli pun katanya dah naik RM300, if not i could get it at RM14,900.

      So, get it now ya.

    3. saya ada survey2 gak kat kedai...n kat tenet...ade kat tenet kata "official" jual RM18,000...tp ade yg kata mcm bro la, RM15200...tu rase mcm musykil tu, knp harga "official" and harga kat kedai lain....

    4. kadang2 kedai ada bagi gift yg berkualiti dan ada yg tidak. d best way is to ask Naza Sales for official retail price. Seperkara lagi harga cash juga berbeza-beza diantara kedai. Bagi saya mintak quotation is d best.

If dat so, maaflah sbb saya tak tahu berapa riban harganya sbb Two Bros pun dah boleh cecah seriban lebih.

Motor GP style muffler ada org jual for RM250 kat group FB Hyosung/blade/GGB. Bro leh tengok kat sane yer.

Harga yang logik is around RM15K now.

    1. Maybe ada kotoran atau belum wear-in lagi tu. Seingat saya ada jugak bunyi pad brake belakang masa baru beli blade saya. tapi hari ini mmg sah pad belakang dah haus giler. Sebab tu ada bunyi yg agak kuat bila sorong motor keluar/masuk rumah. Therefore, check your pad once dah lebih 13000KM atau in my case dah cecah 16000KM. Kalau tak, lagi haru kena tukar piring disc.

  9. Salam bro. sy bercadang nk beli blade 250 naked utk ride syiok2 je..sy di kedah, maybe sebulan sekali @ 2 bln sekali akn ride jauh ke KL. So,pd pndapat bro sesuai x sy angkat blade ni utk kegunaan sy 2?lg 1,yg naked 2013 ni leh x buang dia punyer cover lampu & meter jd cm blade yg lama..tgk yg tahun 2006 - 2008 xde cover 2 & nmpak cun..act,sy minat sgt CB400 tp x mampu.so,kalo buang cover 2 kt blade naked 250,nmpak cket ala2 cm CB400..huhu..thanks

    ReplyDelete

Cover headlamp yg saya tengok macam boleh buang, tapi takut display LCD tu tak berapa Nampak kot bila ride lawan matahari. Dulu punya model meter dia jenis kaler hijau tu mcm kaler nombor digital dulu-dulu.

Enjoy your ride bro n be safe.

  11. Hey bro, you have a great and complete reviews of the bike. You are very patience to answer all of the readers questions!give you a big LIKE!

First of all, I would like to have a naza blade 250r 2013 version on nx year, and actually in my list there are still sym t2, which one are you recommend? and im actually got visit to few forum and got some bad feedback regard to naza blade.

Actually im still a uni students, but graduate soon in three more week "if success". Properly will start working on February and would thinking to buy my first vehicle as fast as possible since im start admire for sportbike when i was young haha! The reason i want to choose a good bike but within my budget is because im newly to work are not able to pay higher repairing fees for it :(

I been checked in mudah.com there is offer lots of installment and 0% downpayment in every shop. But i just curious the price is written RM13999, but at last after i calculate the installment in 48month there total cost me around RM22000, this is too much.

May I know the actual OTR price for new naza blade 250r 2013? since i got doing some part-time job, im still able to pay around 4-5k for my downpayment, and thinking to use max 2years installment period to finish my total payment. I'm quite curious what is the interest rate for it?why it can cost so high frm initial price to final total RM22000++? @@

    Your help is highly appreciated!

    Regard,
    sam

    2. Hi, it's ok. I'm already ask my friend about the installment. :) Beside that i went to some motorbike shop yesterday, most of them not sellling naza blade, im just curious and ask them why, they say naza blade is a troublesome bike, they just avoid to take it, but can order for me, but they dont recommend me to take this bike since there is lots of issues and sparepart problem on this bike.

would like to know how is your blade going now?still fine? since you bought it until now almost reaching 1year, your experience will be greater than other.

    3. Hi Sam. Sorry for taking quite a long time to reply. Been very busy with office work and handling office politics too : )

Coincidently, I saw one T2 doing highway trip along PLUS southbound. My car speed is around 110-120kmh and I reckoned that T2 guy were doing around the same speed but who knows what actually T2’s digital meter shown. It should be higher because SYM quite ambitious.

When we choose 250cc, one of main criteria is at what speed the engine is comfortable to cruise for LD (long distance) trip. I practiced to care my engine by leaving a balance of 2K rpm from its top rev/cut off rev or minus 20-30kmh from top speed.

Therefore, for Blade 250R, it propels comfortably between 130-140kmh (maybe minus 5kmh according to GPS) at restful 9Krpm. Then, it is good to ask T2 owners their rpm at certain speed. A basic principle is that the bigger the engine, the bigger the torque and the lesser the engine need to work to go at certain speed.

In case our choice is limited to 250cc, then it is good to consider this point because we will know our cruising speed, fuel economy, how stressed the engine is and fuel economy from each bike.

Good for you also Sam to survey, read and review articles, blogs and group related to the bike interested to you. It will help you a lot in making a decision. I think there is one guy who asked the same regarding which bike to choose. So, my approach is still the same by listing out all the pro and cons of each bike and then try as much as to relate with personal needs and preferences. Example:

      1) I “play” mostly in KL and I “play” it “hard & single” – So, a naked bike, weighing 3 Nora Danish, agile and less pillion ergo is a choice.

      2) Highway is me and my wife “best friend” – So, a good wind protection, “friendagomic” & luggage happy bike is a choice.

      3) It’s a “speed” thing…You would not understand…Back pain? Hahaha….- So, get an R1, HP4 rather than Hayabusa or ZX14.

      4) I love my R1..but it was a long long time ago…reaching my retirement now..ohh dear, my wife is aging… – Get a Multistrada, Diavel, Triumph Tiger Explorer / Trophy, GTR1400, BMW K series and others – you can stay away from home..quite for a time.

I would say Blade 250R is a good bike unless the aspect of reliability is there. That is my own opinion. I wish this bike did not have whatsoever flaws in his first 20 - 30K km of mileage. But it did have flaws, in my case at least. Others may not have any mishaps and it is true too.

So, it depends on your luck. Period. I would say this eventhough I hate it – Blade 650R is a better buy than 250R. Really a general statement without supporting data, but I read that statement mostly in forum and FB group.

On the other hand, my bike has not been repaired yet. Still try to find the right time to send it either to Naza SC or Amir. I already checked both of my plug caps and it seems okay. Amir suspected things that relates to injector/throttle body, meanwhile I suspected things that give input to ECU such as sensors and others. Spark plug check is a good first step to do. From there further assumptions and diagnoses could be established.

Price in cash for Blade 250R is around RM15.2K. on the road. Funny as there is still shop that condemned Blade out of the blues. Maybe they have some issues with Naza directly.

Should you decided to put RM5K downpayment, with 10% interest rate per annum and 24 months of installment, you will have to pay RM17240 in total with RM510 per month. My advice is to get a quotation from each shop. Then you will know what is less and what is more from shop to shop.

Again Sam, I bought my Blade because it is the cheapest full faired bike with two pistons in Malaysia. Should I have more money, thus increasing my choice to other brands, I would give each shortlisted model a hell thought of consideration. Yes, luck also comes in play. If it bad luck in the sizes minor or severe, but we do have the knowledge to rectify, it will put a smile on your face, again and again.

  14. Salam bro Abdul Laila,

Congrats on your purchase. For 1000Km, if not mistaken, the labor is FOC but you will be charged for lube. They have Motul and perhaps others lube too but you could bring your own also. Ask them to check your battery and plug cap too.

  16. Assalam bro, would like to thanks for your review since 1st time using Hyosung GT250R / Naza Blade 250R until recently updates. I would give you rating 10/10 Star over blog been written (about blade 250R) and patiently answer question by question (which is I believe you have a lot experience on bike) compare others users respond. I like to get on user feedback rather than sales people only thinking about revenue or support people do not use this bike want to give their theory while they are not using it!

I have been reading/compare/survey base on my budget for long distant traveling, hope its goes well. Alhamdulillah, now I have own Blade 250R manufactured 2014 release on end April 2014 almost reach 1K mileage, so far so good. My friend own it manufactured somewhere 2011-2012 which I heard he having difficultly parts have defected as you been described before (not only that, he didn’t ride quite sometimes as family reject to riding for long time. I believe he has forgotten on how to maintain those crucial parts, and I think the way he explain now he has good experience).

I’m quite new with big bike, mostly using ‘kapcai’ Kajang to Subang approx 72KM home-office-home (jam, traffic full, impatient car etc) as for now moving to Sepang, new working place Kota Damansara 120KM home-office-home [using elite highway, quite a lot of big lorry, simply change line didn't aware/ignore small bike] while with new big bike would be better.

Well done on the review, perhaps you could get some $$ % from Naza Group since you helping them a lot, hehee… Keep it up bro!

Believe Naza Bikes not only hearing but action on improving as well. Hope they continue improving better in future and innovation makes suite our market, weather, parts etc.

    1. Bro, thanks for reading and shares yours too. I believe you are happy with your ride now.

Discount from Naza? Mr Nik Daniel said to me I could get "his price" should I want to upgrade my bike. RSV4 perhaps Encik Nik? hahaha.

I believe they learn it hard way when Blade first landing in 2006. They slowly captured the market after that and they 100 meter sprint after that especially late 2012. Now they have come with N5. I try not to be biased but if this bike is better than Blade, then Z250 is nowhere near it.

Hope they will do well as the benefit will go to us also as consumers.

      Ride safe bro.

  18. Yes, so far so good. In before that, 1-2 week 1st time using it earlier having pain whole body, hahaa thought I had bad riding it then have friend using Megelli 250RR said because of riding style Blade 250R was racing type. Ahh no wonder, then trying Megelli 250RR, a bit surprise the bike is a bit low my both foot can step down and comfortable handle too while Blade 250R either left or right for temp stand (My height 173cm Weight 65kg).

You have good taste bro RSV4 :P, wish you good luck to get it :). Well, after 2-3 week using it, found comfortable position to ride, yea as you mention before our body will fall onto wrist cause its numb/pain (require exercise). Again its up to person to find it or change the handle bar etc, so far for me its ok except those town area superb jam (dislike it) easily tired. Good thing bike was a bit heavy while I passed contenna or big lorry with speed 140-150km/h the bike just stand according to our ride with air flow mix, its cool.

Nah bad thing after the bike just out, lucky I read manual do not ride while engine oil at L par. I just topup it and bad experience as well difficult to change gear (1st 0-1K) tough its just temp due to early stage. 2nd service using Motul (10-40w) a lot better smooth change gear, but still having issue when engine too hot changing to N very difficult, end I'm just off it, while engine off it ok to change back to N. After read over and over your blog, found you did mention to topup as well (Nah would be good you put in BIG FONT RED COLOR), =.= speechless while we bought it cost around 15-16K get this thing happen.

I saw N5 ads before seem cool design, but then I tough this model suppose to release with another new model as well for full firing. Reading from others forum in India they going to release it, in MY I'm not sure, perhaps you could verify with Naza MY :D...

    1. Bro Slave Soul,

Thanks bro for your sharing. I have neither updated nor replying to comment for few months already. Really stuck up with jobs and holidays too. Now, i have relocated to Klang Valley and finally my Blade got the chance to rest.

Yes, a faired version of N5 will be coming out in this year and they are now testing a CKD shiver as what i've heard. i still fond to RSV4 and yes 899 Panigale too. Seems my dream to have it look brighter. I guess the more we wish for it, God will granted it sooner or later. But now, i stick to ER6n and it fits my current purpose.

Hope you will have good times with your bike and in my case, its worth every penny i spent on my Blade even though there were sweet and sad moments with her.
